Do you ever WATCH items that you have no intention to buy? I would say yes, I do that, why? because I like to see what certain items ultimately sell for or if they even sell at all!

BUT.. what is the purpose in WATCHING an item that is listed as BUY IT NOW?

Sure the same answer can still be applied I guess.. to see whether it actually sells.. but I just don't get it ?

Why do I ask.. well, I do on occassion sell a FACT BOOK on ebay, I sell it as a flat out Buy it Now.. and I am always amused at the amount of watchers I get...so far no problem, right? but what bugs me is this.,.. I more often then not do sell it before the auction ends.. and then I get an email from the other 3 or 4 watchers.. usually in a day or so asking if I have another one I can sell to them  Why would you watch an item with a Fixed price? why not just BUY IT NOW.. instead of watching it get sold and then asking later.

Oh well.. just curious.. it's all good, people are still restoring 66 and 67 SS's!

Mike I have doing that to your for months, LMAO l:) and you just figured it out, hehe, J/k
I would guess they either forget to just get off their ass and buy it now or they just like to be a PITA after the auction is over?

It could be their way of try to "stick it to the man (Ebay)" by trying to get you to sell outside of Ebay. Or they figure since you won't have to pay fees for another one you will cut them a better deal. Car guys are cheap or at least try to be.

I'm like you Mike, I watch a lot of stuff that I have no intention of buying just to see what they might sell for - both cars and parts.

On the "Buy it Now (BIN)" issue, I don't put any in my watch list. There have been a few items over the years that I would see, review the BIN price and if it's reasonable I buy it at that time. Agree, not much sense in my opinion to "watch" an item that is BIN only

I watch BIN stuff that I may or may not want to buy cuz I'm too lazy to go back and look for it again days later if I do decide to buy it. :D
Bingo. I do it too. Sometimes I want to think it over and by watching it, it's easy to find again or maybe I don't have the money right then but want to keep track of it. It also keeps me from making an impulse buy. If it's something I'm looking for specifically, like another AIM, I'll use the BIN and get it.

If I was new, or getting reintroduced, to the Chevelle world and saw Mike's CD or one of my CD's, I might want to do some research and see what others thought before committing to it.

Some stuff I like but not enough so if I'm not around when its over, I don't care, other stuff I will stop what I'm doing, or get a snipe program to do my dirty work.

Yeah I do it, same reasons. Often I have one and am looking to see what it will bring, or what keywords seem to bring in more bidders.

or it's on my wish list to buy and it helps me remember the details.

I did lots when I was looking for parts for my car. More as a book mark, just incase I needed to find and buy that part instead of buying it else were. So you have someone watching your stuff, big deal. I have it happen all the time (computer parts). Don't count your chickens before they are hatched...lol
