You can fit 275/60-15 but you need a rims with right backspace to do that and maybe some triming on the lip or the inside of the wheelwell.

I belive a 8" rim with 4.75" in backspace would fit perfect? I have 275´s on my 64 but my rear is narrowed 1 1/16"/side, if I add 1" in backspace I end up with 4.75".

My 65 has 15x7 wheels and if i remember a 4.25 back space. Running 275/60/15's MT ET streets. Also run a 12 bolt out of a 66 chevelle. They are close to the quarters but plenty of room on the inside. They have never rubbed. I believe the rear quarters are similar from 64 to 65 correct me if i am wrong.

I'm running a 64 Camino with 28x9 slicks in factory fenders, trimmed on the outer edges, on 15x8 wheels with 5" backspace. Section width on my tires is about 10.75" and they don't rub. I run 215/75/15 tires on the street with 15x6 wheels since I can't hook street tires anyway.
