In anyone out there experienced with the Doug Nash 4 speed?? How do I ID it, and how is the transmission?? Durability, gearing, etc? The transmission in my 71 Chevelle is supposed to be one, but I havn't had time, or desire for that matter, to check (hey, it works fine)To me, it looks like a Borg Warner, according to the chart in the back of the Hurst Catalog. Any takers??

In my non-Chevelle, daily driver, I have the Doug Nash 5 speed (called 4+1). Doug Nash transmissions are now owned by Richmond Transmission. I've yet to have any problem with this tranny, they have been labeled by many magazines as "bullet proof".
Well, I haven't shot at it yet, but hey we've
all missed a few here and there.
I'ld say, stick with it! (pun intended).

It is a Borg Warner Super T-10. Doug Nash, Inc. Now owned by and called Richmond bought the rights to the Borg Warner T-10 design and now manufacure it. It's just a new T-10.

Thanks for the reply guys...any idea what the 1st gear ratio is?? Im told its pretty high (or low ) around 2:60 ??

I think the Super T10s that GM spec'd were either 2.43 (cr) or 2.64 (wr).
