Does anyone know where I can find a dome light socket assembly for a 66? The vendors only sell the base plate, lens and harness but no socket. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't believe there is a "socket," Mike. The wires with the bulb receptacles soldered on snap/push into the base and the bulb snaps into them, as I recall anyway.

That makes sense. When I checked with OPGI they had all the standard parts and no socket either. But they did have a dome "terminal" that looks like what the bulb would snap into that has the connectors for the wires. So I think that could be it. I ordered it and shipping was more than the part. Hopefully that does the trick. I never heard of that kind of set up until now. Learn something everyday about these cars. Thanks

having just replaced my base a cpl of weeks ago that is excatly what it is,got it out of the old one and snaped it into the new base

I just replaced the lense in my 67 and removed the base and cleaned and polished it a few days ago. There is a socket that holds the lamp that fits into the base. It was held in by friction only. Looked original as far as I could tell.
