I haven't seen this topic so here goes a word of warning. I bought a new repro dome light housing for my 70 Chevelle. Well, the thing started sparking and smoking then blew a fuse (good thing). Turns out that the repro housings are coated completely in plastic chrome. Where the contacts are it's painted white over the chrome. The plastic chrome conducts electricity, thus causing the contacts to arch (not to mention a near heart attack). GM did not plastic chrome the inside of the light nor on the back side where the wire contacts are. Another repro lesson. You can scrape off the plastic chrome around the contacts and the white paint and it will work OK. But you guys might consider keeping your old housing or find another GM one before buying a repro.
