I recently purchased a Voodoo 60203 for my 396. A few of you have mentioned that a 2400 B&M Holeshot would work nicely with this cam.

In the description, it states " likes 2400 stall ". Other cams on the Lunati website state " NEEDS xxx stall "...

My question is, will the engine still run nicely with a lower stall speed, or will the car not run smoothly at slower speeds?

Just curious as well, what would a stock stall speed be for a '69 396/325hp car?

Dan,flash stall for a stocker would be about 1600-1800
The 2400 B+M unit would be perfect. I like mine alot, works great and you don't know its there until you really lay into it.
I would not even consider a stock convertor with any cam that is not stock.
Cam and convertor work together :)
JMHO...

ok I thought I posted a reply guess I didnt lol. but what I said was I ran a 60204 and a B&M torquemaster 3000rpm witch is 2800-3200 and the car was fine on the street and ran 12's on the track no troubles converter acted like a stock one on the street I left the line at around 2000rpm on foot brake best times in my sig and thats this converter. I also sent you a PM.

Regardless of what stall speed you decide on, I would consider going with a 10" converter with a 396 motor. For any given desired stall speed, you want the smallest diameter converter you can get at that stall, otherwise you won't see the advertised stall speed, you will only see the lower part of the RPM range.

Joe,I have to respectfully disagree...my 12" B+M 2400 will flash to 2900-3000
My friend runs the same convertor but with a milder 454 in a 1980 Malibu and it flashes to 2700-2800
With Dan's combo he'll probably be right around 2400-2500 flash with that convertor
:)
