We all have different tastes and we paint cars various colors for a reason. Mine is my first Chevelle (one of the beloved & rare 612 L78 examples) that as far as I know is long gone, came in Deepwater Blue Metallic and most that see this color in various lighting come to love it. I saw a 1964 GTO when I was 14 in dark blue and just fell in love with that color so I ordered my '67 Chevelle in Deepwater Blue! But, you rarely see this color on '67 Chevelles. My current '67 came to me in it's original (repainted) Bolero Red (R-R), and red was my favorite color as a kid growing up. But, now, not so much. It's gorgeous but makes the car look waaaaay too big in my opinion. A darker color is my preference, so it will go to Deepwater Blue. This '67 will be a clone of my original '67, complete with an original '67 L78 block. Anyone with a set of posi 4.10 gears please contact me as those gears will be going in the 12 bolt rear end of this Chevelle (if I can find them). Probably my second favorite color on the '67 is the Maroon. Both colors with black interior is simply spot on gorgeous to me! The pic of "Big Red" below is off the website of the dealer I bought the car from because I haven't taken any photos of it here at home outside yet comparable to my old photo of the E-E Code Chevelle. It's Winter after all and I've been having fun working on it.

My car is ermine white with blue interior. I like it but I would like a turquoise color 66. But hey I always see ones that I think would be cool. If I had it my way I’d have 25 different 66’s with different color combos and engines…..all 4 speeds though 😂

This is my favorite shade of blue. Some dark blues have too much red in them and look wierd to me. This shade of blue seems to have lots of silver or dark grey.

I always wanted a 69 el Camino SS396 dark blue with black interior. I saw one same color, brand new in 1969. It had a dealer installed 427 with GMs new wonder transmission, the Turbo 400!. It also had the Hurst Autostick One shifter!! It was being showed in a local indoor mall (Northway Village, McKnight Rd Pittsburgh). I was in love with it.

I had just sold my Pontiac and all of the Pontiac parts I had, to go another direction. I had been into Pontiacs for 40 years. Then the guy I do my volunteer work with told me of an el Camino for sale. When I saw it, I handed him the cash quickly.
It had a 1978 truck 454 and Th400 with only 1000 miles. He got them from a demolished truck in 1978. He put them aside loosened the valve springs filled them both with oil and let it sit for decades. Then he picked this up with a few others that came from a Texas estate sale. It was in pieces but the seller swore up and down it was a real SS396. After restoring the interior and finding the same old red Texas dust under the chrome on the dash and other pieces along with the factory console holes I believe it is.I wish it came with the Texas license plate, Pennsylvania lets antiques use there original plates.

I always wanted to paint my white car black but have to many projects going all the time to make it happen. I got a quote from a shop I thought would do a good job but it was 20k for show quality black. Decided I would be further ahead to sell the car and buy a black car instead. Well I ended up finding a really nice project car in Cranberry red which was my third choice, so still no black car for me. Maybe next time if I live long enough.

New project car..it’s a lot deeper red than the pic shows, there is quite a bit of dust on the car. It’s been sitting for 8 years like this. It was started in 2004. SS 454 4spd bucket cowl hood. The restoration to this point is really amazing that’s why I couldn’t pass it up. Found it through a friend.

I was trying to put a reverse light switch on my Autostick the other day. I mounted the micro switch on the floor. After getting all set up, it hit me, one of the cool things about this shifter is it shakes and vibrates like a stick floor shift. Those reverse lights would be going on and off like my old strobe light LOL... At least I didn't put the carpet back in and finish the whole job up. I also got to grease the internals down with some spray grease..
