I buy cars that are a factory color combo I like... or can live with..

My El Camino was originally Bolero Red but a previous owner painted it black. I like black but wish they would've repainted it red. Not many factory red El Caminos.

Mine was just a non-numbers matching Malibu. It was originally Grenada Gold, but had been red when I bought it, but it was mostly in gray primer. I painted it in my driveway, and being a novice I painted it with some inexpensive (right) Summit stuff. Turns out the Bomber Blue I used had quite a bit of metallic in it and turned out pretty nice. Having said all that, I regret not painting it factory Tahoe Turquoise. When done right, I think it's the most stunning color from 67.

Blue is tough. I like dark blue with more silver and grey than red. Some dark blues have too much red and they look cheap to me.

If I had a choice, I would have ordered the color I have now, 1969 dark blue with silver / grey. or 1966-67 Plum / Purple. Always with black interior.

I painted mine in 2001 using a 1996 Corvette blue... it's OK, but a little dated looking now. I prefer factory colors now.

My car was originally LeMans blue, which is a great color, but I also like Dusk Blue and Monaco Orange.
I have been looking through pictures of other colors and realized my cottonwood green SS is a rare color I’m gonna go without the vinyl this time around,I can always put it back on later

There was a guy on this site a few years ago who had a 70 or 71 I think, very recently re-painted silver with black stripes as I recall, and he was gong to have it repainted AGAIN in different colors because he saw one painted just like his in his town, and he wanted to be the only one with a car like his. True story - go figure.

I had a similar situation. There was another car almost identical to mine where I was living. Instead of repainting the car, I just moved 600 miles away. Paint and body is expensive.

I like my car as I bought it from the po, but would not have been so excited had he not changed the gulf green color. I guess the po didn't care much for gulf green either but instead off spending the huge amount on the interior color change, he painted it white, which is about the only color that would work. Car was a triple green from the factory, seats were reupholstered green and new vinyl green top. It was restored as a Malibu, but years later he had to repaint the hood and added dark green SS stripes that everyone thinks are black but after closer inspection, they are a very dark green.

I love the color of my 68 as I rarely see this lighter blue on Chevelle's in my area when we go to all the shows and events. But, I'd be happy with just about any factory color besides red or black. I like the odd duck colors

The wrong sized stripes on my 70 bother me more than the non-factory green that it’s painted. In a perfect world she’d be Fathom Blue with white stripes and white interior (I can be weird like that). Since the dark green metallic interior is growing on me, I think I may consider a repaint in Forest Green. I’m really liking some of the dark green Chevelles I’m seeing

My RR code 67 came to me in more of madiera maroon. Man, I preferred madiera but assumed I'd be wheeling the car so had it done in a proper RR code. Now the 64 Elky is a silver/blue car, but am having thoughts about not being original with the 64. Aint hardly any paint left on her anyway.

Was thinking of a " Shorty" style multiphase with highlights , like the sky. Then I said, dang thats 30 Gs worth of color!
