- M_: Just finished putting our first big block together and dropped it into a '69 El Camino.We went to the local parts store and bought a refurbished starter. The starter came withtwo little shims that seemed to have no purpose. After it didn't start and the starter casebroke into many pieces, we figured that the shims were important. Lifetime warrantiesonly cover the insides, not the case.
