Do Mini Roots Blower/Superchargers have gear whine like 6-71/8-71's?

I am trying to decide between using a Weiand Pro-Street 177cid blower and a ATI Procharger on my new 454 for my '70 Elky. I think the deciding factor might be the gear whine, which I want. I don't think the ATI Procharger will have any whine at all (or does it?). Has anyone used the ATI Procharger? Thank you for your time.

Todd may be right.

The loud whine I hear from my 8-71 sounds like it's coming from the external part of the blower as opposed to internal (gears).

I'm still trying to figure out the correlation between the whine and trapped air as explained by Todd though. It sounds more mechanical than air. But a lot of people have explained that it is from the trapped air.
