Anyone know of any websites or other technical info on lead substitutes??? We all have our opinions, but how about real tests and/or comparisons ?? I want to know if they (or which ones) will actually help reduce damage in my stock 64 engine.

Might try an internet search of Chevron and Lubrizol Corp's websites. I think that both companies made the stuff. Lubrizol's was called Valvetect, per memory. The stuff was popular in the fuel sold at marinas as the older boat engines had soft seats and can be loaded more than a car engine.

What we are talking about here is tetraethyl lead added to gasoline to reduce engine knock."A quote from Webster".Not the lead they make wheel weights from.If not sure use it, its cheap insurance...FRED
