I was wondering what I have to do to put a late model distributor into my 70 chevelle. It is out of a 77 buick I think.

I think you would have to leave it bolted to the Buick to make it work.

Any small or big block CHEVY distributor will fit, see the article by Wes Vann in the tech reference section for more info.

I had a good chuckle out of your response, but then I thought of something. Remember back in the late 70's when lots of folks were raising a stink 'cause GM was putting Chevy engines in other make GM cars?? I believe Oldsmobile was the recipient of the brunt of consumers' ire, but I think some Buicks of that era were using Chevy engines, too. So the answer to 70chevelle's question may not be as obvious as it seems at face value. Just a thought......
