I was discriminated against by a teacher today.

The prof. made arrangements to let two girls miss a week of class, when I approached with the same problem I was told that I would miss too much class. One of those days I would miss was a movie available anywhere there is internet.

I sent her an email.

I need this one class to transfer as a Junior to CSUSB.

I guess I will be a Sophmore next month instead of a junior.

Did you let her know about the girls being able to get the week off? If so, did she have a reasonable reason why you couldn't? I would think about going over her head if that is the case.

The school handbook says to start at the professor. So I am following the rules set forth by the school.

I learned one great thing at school. You must follow all the rules, fill-out all the forms, then they will help you. No matter how small of problem or situation.

I once had to fill out a paper with all my personal info, mark one box, then make an appointment. This was just to let financial aid know I was still in school, even though the computer showed I was enrolled.

Elco....Talk to the professor... then take it to the Department Chair...... For instance if its computer science go to the Dead Of Computer Science. BTW, maybe my college was different, but I can remember at least two classes where I only showed up for tests and was absent the rest of the time. I found it pointless to make the half our drive to what a power point presentation that I could just download and read to myself.

As a matter of fact my History Class at CSUSB was in one of those huge auditoriums with over 200 students.... half the time I would come in and there would be more digital and tape recorders on the chair than there were students.

Anyhow... Ask the professor.....from all angels... Your side, there side, then go up the chain of command.

You are right. The handbook says professor first, then the chairperson/Dean, then Dean/Vice President.

My advice, don't bring the two girls up, it's irrelevant to your situation and will only tick people off. You don't know all the facts related to the two girls and their situation, and it's none of your business anyway. Stay calm, be professional, and state the facts, that's your best shot.

She emailed me back this morning and changed her tune, she said I left the class too soon for her to help me with my situation.

Which is odd, cuz she helped those ladies while standing there.

When I get hurt I just throw some dirt on it and move on.

One of them was hot, the other was a little big.

For you Unpats fans, I was wearing my Romo 4 president shirt!

I usually get an "A" when I walk into class with that shirt.

This was within the first hour of the first class.

I was only a minute early to class, they may have been there sooner.

Well I emailed her back. I told her that she is putting the blame on me. I also mentioned I am going to the Dean.
Not sure If I will though. I am kinda over it, it is wrong what she did, but I have better things to do with my time.:yes:

She said I left class too soon for her to help me, but she stopped me on the way out and asked for her syllabus and her other handouts back. She made the arrangements for the other girls while standing there. And this all happen during the break she made to help the first young lady.
