What is the exact difference (or is there one) between a Chevelle and a Chevelle/Malibu? Specifically 1965. Thanks.

I can't tell you all the exact differences, but a malibu is just an option package that basically got you more trim and some interior stuff. Nothing mechanically different.

I beleive that there is only a difference after 72. And the differences are options. Same body style. My 71 is a SS Chevelle Malibu.

My 68 Elc was a malibu but it had less stuff than my dad's 68 300 Chevelle. We are still confused about that.

Canadian Chevelles are Malibu's. Beaumont's are basically Malibu's.

Malibu is spelled with an M, while Chevelle is ...,well, you get the idea.
