Saw this on eBay and it’s clearly a 136 vin but built in Canada.
Am I missing something or is this not an SS?
And is it this worth more than about $2500 ?

According to the GM letter it is a Cdn Malibu SS

However the only way I would take it is if it was $ 1,000

Didn't know that small blocks were an option for any SS car - Canadian or otherwise. A 283 in an SS car? Give me a break. At the very least it should have been a high HP 327. As for the price, I wouldn't give him 2 K for the car, and that would be a stretch - I don't care about the supposed rarity.

64 was a SBC for an SS but I'm pretty sure it wasn't until 72 for a SB to be used in an SS again, and #'s matching 283 in a 66 wouldn't be an SS, waay over priced IMHO

That, plus the car has small block flags on the front fenders and no SS hood. I've got my doubts...

All of those are correct for this car. As is the silver painted rear cove area that is still barely visible. Any engine choices for the model year were available for the SS in Canada including 6 cylinders.

64 & 65 the SS option was basically a trim package. Standard engine for the SS was a 6 cylinder, although most opted for a V8. Remember the 396 wasn't available until the end of the '65 model year & only 201 cars were sold.

Yes what Pete 67 said.
I have a '66 malibu SS with 396 4speed that was parked in 1972 down the street from where I lived as a kid. I got to know the owner and managed to buy it in 1987, got it running, cleaned some mildew off it and it was my summer daily as an 17 year old kid in High school, it was a little stinky inside and a bit crusty overall but I still loved it.

A Malibu SS with a 6 cyl. engine must be one rare car. They probably built more than 201 but how many were saved and how many of those still have a 6 Cyl. engine.

My brother owned a 67 Impala SS. Beautiful bucket seat interior. Well it had a 6 banger in it with a slip and slide. It was stolen about 2 months later in Lowell Ma and the CT police pulled them over and got his car back. They actually tried to outrun the cops. I wonder if the thieves ever figured out they had one slow SS.

The 64-5 chevy II nova SS also had a 6 banger with a 140 speedo LOL edit and the few I've seen were PG console cars, thinking back might have only been 64?

Both the L65 350-2 and the L48 350-4 were small block options for that year - all smoggers of course.
are you referring to 1971, 1972, or both?
