Yeah, those rare SS emblems are tuff to find.
watching the new one right now.... i have an entire second set of emblems in my parts box..... the could have asked, im not that far away.....
I watched a couple of their shows. I was not real impressed with their "restorations". Just not that impressed with the people either.
How many corners can you cut when you build a car?
so far, the only thing i like is i am now aware of Impala Bobs in Mesa.
Having that old man or the Dad hanging around, breathing down your neck.....giving orders, saying stuff like, "be real careful with that 'cause they're hard to find and if you do find one it will cost a mint." (for example, the back glass from the Barracuda that smashed on the floor) Then I won't make as much money to put in the bank. What a pain in the a**....Why is this a TV show? The thrill of the re-build to a classic type car in a couple weeks? I don't get it, I've watched it a few times, not impressed. Working for a family-run business and not being a family member is not for me, been there, done that......What will be next? I'd rather watch the oilfield roughnecking show on TruTV called BlackGold or Hardcore Pawn from Detroit, more laughs.
yeah.... I learned something new... 67' seats had the release on the back not on the side like I always thought... and the 66' SS has those induction hood air intakes too ...
Buncha damn crooks if ya ask me
Loved the story about the knee knocker tach...which was actually an
aftermarket fuel pressure gauge mounted in a cup on the cowl...

And the manual convertible top...vs...the "automatic" top...

Nice "factory" ladder bars, eh? As nice as the oily greasy undercarriage...

See the mysterious fabric on the top...and the stellar fitment...?

Not a word on 10-bolt or 12-bolt...?

The sun bleached faded black-now-light-brown carpet was not replaced...

And the paint...don't get me started...what a depressing and genuinely pitiful endeavor.

The owner says: "This one really needed to be perfect...it's definitely the best restoration we've ever done."

What hurts is all that BS being pumped out as "truth from experts" and being perpetuated and parroted by millions of know-not newbies.

That poor buyer...man o' man...where's my Pepto????
See less See more
Well the fact that these people are buying these cars at an auction where 90's something junk cars are going for 500-900 bucks they cant be expecting to be getting good resto cars. I dont see this show lasting very long either. A lot of the conversations seem like theyre read from a script. Now Sons of Guns is a great show that comes on before this one. Seems very genuine and the owner knows what he's doing and is a no non-sense kinda guy.
watched the first 10-12 minutes...shut it off and went to bed..what a joke!!..the old man gave them extra time to do it..3 weeks instead of the usual 2..what BS!!
I think the whole point alot of folks is missing is its just a TV show. Im sure historic websites blast national geographic or any of the other shows about ancient egypt, sumaria etc., or real estate agents laugh at what real world people pay for houses on house hunters. You gotta just sit back and look at this stuff as entertainment, these poor producers have to fill the dead air with something, and I'd rather watch stuff like this than the aquarium channel.
Sons of Guns is a cool show, they're a sponser over on gunco and akforums etc, most folks realize on the gun builds that its filmed as entertainment. So when they called a 37mm flare launcher a gernade launcher it wasnt a big deal.
When these car do go to auction, the selling price seems to reflect the quality of the build. jim
I cringed when I saw them smoothing out the old dried up paint for a brand new coat. The plastic on the dash was brown instead of chrome. "The car won't be worth anything if we are missing an SS emblem". I was impressed with Impala Bobs though as I didn't know it was that big of an operation.

Yeah Jim, but it's a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY BAD TV show!
They have alot of cars. Anyone in that area ever order parts from them ?
Caveat emptor.

That's all that needs to be said.
I wouldn't slam that show yet. There may come a time when your eyes are glued to that show about a car that they may be afraid to restore because of how rare it is.The car is the best of the unrestored and by restoring it will it be better than the 5 restored cars. Now you know why I didnt restore it!
