I’ve got the dash out of my 66 and noticed that the homemade seals I made for where the defroster duct sits on the heater air box has deteriorated. It’s only been in there a couple years.
Has anyone come up with a long term solution to sealing thgap?
Same question for where the duct top meets the louvers in the dash.
It’s no wonder you can’t defrost these things.

I know that when I took my car apart a few years ago, the foam I had put in to seal the duct to the underside of the vent on the dash many years ago looked ok. Maybe select a more rigid foam. The weather stripping section of the hardware store might have something.

Maybe something like the Air Cleaner Rubber Seal to a Cowl Hood would be better than Foam
cut it into 4 pieces and Glue/Staple together
