New to the site - Hi !

I am working on a Muncie 4-speed M20 with the below information.

VIN Stamping Serial Number - 12S516911

I am led to believe the transmission is out of a 1972 Chevelle.

"S" being St. Louis, MO. - most Internet sources say only Passenger and Corvette Cars were built there.

Question is - were Chevelle Cars built in St. Louis, MO. in 1972 ?

No Chevelles were built in St. Louis. It is out of a Corvette (rather than a full size) since the six digit sequence number starts with 5.
