Is there a way to repaint the silver letters on the dashboard that label "Ignition" and other swithches on a 68? I was thinking silver paint with a match head or very small brush but was wondering if anyone else has a better method.

A lot of folks like to use a silver "Paint Pen" by Testors, available at most hobby shops and/or Wal Mart. Still others have suggested having the entire bezel replated and then paint the black areas (beautiful but expensive). I know of one individual who applied chrome leaf with pretty good results. Not sure how durable that is though. Silver paint pen seems to be the method of choice.

I just did mine with a tip from this site. Deposit some silver paint on a peice of cardboard. I used the testors chrome metallic pen. Next take a new pencil and with the eraser dab the paint and then lightly press it onto the letters. I did 3 coats, worked like a charm.

Whats wrong with doing it like the factory did, paint the whole dash chrome ,or just the areas that are chrome.I know the factory chrome isnt really paint.Ive used chrome paint befor and to me it looks alot like the original.Just use some type of silicone or something where you dont want the dash color to be.Im gonna try it anyway.
