Tried the easy off oven cleaner trick to strip the dash bezel for paint prep. It removed in some areas, some not. the "chrome" underlayer came up in some areas, not all. Whats a good way to get it down to bare plastic? Anyone have good results using some other type of solvent? thanks,

The oven cleaner works very slowly. I had to leave it on for 12-16 hours to get everything off, and for some areas I needed a second application. Before actually doing any stripping, I applied some on an inconspicuous area on the backside for 24 hours and it did nothing to harm the bare plastic, so it appears to be safe for the plastic.

I sand blasted some plastic parts using play sand as a media. Worked great, did'nt seem to harm the grain or detail of the plastic! Mike, M22
