I forked out some serious money for a set of new front fenders for my '70. $300 bucks a piece. The fit was crap, and would take serious body work to get straightened out, if at all. The right fender is not correct for the '70 year, a one only year on this fender, with the front inner lip being different than a '71-2 year.
I'm so pissed right now, you wouldn't begin to understand!!! I had the fenders painted off the car, and then ran them home. It took four hours of trying to fit them with a friend and I, who's a pro body man, and we never could get it correct. The fenders are just a bad deal, all around!
Now I've got to have the originals media blasted, and fix the rust in the lower rear area (usual spot), then put them back on the car, and have it squirted (again). This has set the project back serveral weeks at the least....so much for driving my car this summer.
My suggestion to you good folks is to NOT buy aftermarket $hit. Get a set of good used fenders, fix the rust and life will be good. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" does not apply here!!
