My paint is about ten years old but has very few chips and still looks great. It does have one crack a few inches long along a body line.

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to treat this crack so that it doesn't get too worse? It does look like there may already be some rust in the crack but it is very thin.

Has anyone tried to seal it with more clear?

Can a body shop sand it down and paint it again without looking too obvious?

Any help is appreciated. Shawn

Pick up a copy of the July 08 Car Craft. There's a great in-depth article on this very subject.

Thanks Jimmy, I'll take a look.

I just saw a product called "rust preventative" in the year one catalog and it says you can fill rusty nicks and scratches with it to keep rust from forming.

Has anyone ever used this stuff?
