Gentlemen: did quick search, did not find. Many 69 Malibus have silver painted along the lower body, front to back starting under the hockey stick and continuing about the bottom six inches, just separated from the main part of the body by stainless trim pieces. While others are solid color, I would like to get the silver. Here's the question. Is it argent silver or Cortez, or something else?

Thanks for any consideration, R.B.

From what I've read, the lower color on the Malibu was Argent Silver. I'm planning on using that color when I get to repainting my own Malibu. I found this from the chevellestuff.net web site:

The lower body panel on Malibus for Argent Silver is DuPont mixing formula 927-95905 or 41253, Ditzler (PPG) color number is DE-8568.

All '69 Malibu 2 dr hardtops and convertibles had the Argent Silver color along the lower body and in the rear panel below the trunk lid. I used a Dupont color.

Search also my post about a modern PPG formula equivalent for Argent. I supplied those numbers in another post. The old DuPont numbers often mean nothing at a modern paint store.

If you run into a dead end, I have a Dupont Pontiac year and color name for it somewhere that I could probably dig out. I used it on my Malibu (see bottom link in my signature).
