Guys,

Looking for the correct bolts for my '69 L34 car

OK I have it on good authority (as stated here many times) that the correct GM bolts for the exhaust manifolds are 3909821 (AMK# 10429) and 3736035 (AMK #B10147). The AMK listings for '69 396 is actually incorrect as all the bolts are the same (AMK # G5452) (without shoulders).

Now on to the intake and valve covers...
AMK list both "TR" and "RBW" head markings... what is correct for 1969?

AMK also list the iron intake bolts as a #G5464 with "M" headmarking.. is that accurate?

Thanks in advance,
Chuck

GM used multiple suppliers for all the bolts so there is no one correct head marking

I have to agree with Keith. I have been studying this aspect of these cars over multiple survivor cars and there is no one-single correct answer. If you end up with head markings such as M, TR, RBW, E, SBC, C, no markings other than grade, you are probably doing well. TR is very common for valve cover bolts, M for intake, and grade only for exhaust. I'd recommend using something that has one of those markings. As for the exhaust manifolds, you are correct. Originals used shouldered bolts on the fore and aft exhaust ports, non shouldered on the inboard ports. That has been consistent on multiple survivor cars. Paragon Corvette is a very good source for accurate fasteners.

Thanks Phil.
I just wanted to make sure I was on the right path as I'm still learning about '69 SS cars.
I ordered everything from AMK today.

Thanks again,
Chuck

Phil I have seen original engines with two different head marking bolts on each side of the intake. It's all what the worker grabbed out of a bin
