I have a 64 chevelle with heat only, no air, for the first time since I have owned the car I tried the heat, it seemed to work fine. Later that day the car started to smell like fish? Looking under the dash coolant was pouring our the exhast opening as I went around corners. I have a new radiator and hoses, upon looking under the hood the heater blower cable had fallen off? Where do I start? It looks like I would have to remove the entire right fender just to get the cover off the heater core?

Thanks

Replaced the heater core in my 65 without removing the inner fender, but mine has AC so not the same. I'd think non-ac would be easier.

Ordered a heater core from NAPA, came in wrong. In a pinch Advance auto parts came up with one for me.

fyi: ratchet wrenches made the whole job alot easier. Might wanna invest in a set.

Good luck!!

Absolutely, the non-AC cars are easier, pain in the ass either way though, definately your heater core though. Jason.

Was no need to remove fender, etc. on my non-AC '65 either. Check ends of hoses (remove carefully; easy to damage core pipes) maybe just tighten clamps or slice off 1/2" or so and reinstall. I use new hoses if replacing the core. Good luck.
