Have been running into a major issue attempting to locate a set of the chrome quarter window vertical moldings for my 65 Malibu SS convertible. 1964-1965 "A" body convertibles (Chev, Pont, etc.) are all the same. Sources have them for for hardtops. These sources say you can "cut" approx. 1/2" off for a convertible. It's actually almost 5/8". 1-How are you going to cut these without ruining the chrome, 2-By cutting them the lower hole in the molding for securing them to the lower glass frame will obviously be gone. That mounting hole in the molding actually has a slight bevel in it to allow the screw to sit flush. I guess my question is has anybody run into this problem. Any feedback would be appreciated.
