How would a low gear like 3.31 work with a 9.5" or 10" stall around 3000
I bought a 11" 2600 stall but I am starting to think I will be unhappy with the low stall performance....... peak torque is 598 @3800 rpms TH350.....cam is Isky Mega 280, it says a 2500 or higher stall....

This will be my first time with running a low gear. All gears I ever had were 3.73 or higher........

With the 11" I'm afraid it will run low 12's
I'm thinking with a 9.5 or 10 with a 3000 stall I could hit at least 11's easy...... Thx for your advice.....

I know bro, the struggle of trying to build a border line street strip car.....Since the new 12bolt came with the 3.31's and they were in good shape, I figured to roll with them.... At first I was set on 3.55-3.73's... I have 4.11's in the rear now and 3000-3500 rpms at 65-70mph gets old. It was cool the first 3-4 months....

A 10 inch with 2800 to 3000 stall and your 331's should be good to go. I had the same gears and a BM holeshot 2800 stall in my ElCamino with a built 350 and it was a sweet set up. On the freeway she would be at 2500 rpm at 65 mph and right at 70 mph it was 2800 rpm. Awesome acceleration if needed from that speed and it would not be fazed by any incline on the road. Around town at slow speeds you will notice a slight slippage but if you have a decent trans cooler should be no prob. Oh and she would bust them loose at a 30 to 35 mph role with the THM 400. You should not be disapointted with a 9.5 or 10 inch.
