I am restoring a 1970 Chevelle SS and noticed that there is a plug for a harness at the top (12 o'clock) position on the steering column, just before it enters the firewall.

There is a single connection hand wired and I assume that a wiring harness should go there?

Also, having an issue that the interior lights and the hazard warning lights do not work?

Any relationship to the two issues?

Thanks

Taking a stab at what you are looking at:
It sounds like the connector that the dash wiring attaches to the harness that goes to the rear. There's not much relationship between the dome light and the flashers. A problem in that harness may affect the dome light, but if signals and brakes are working, suspect you may have two different problems.

Thanks, any idea on the pinouts on the connector and what they go to. Rear trunk light, and all brake and backup lights are working properly.

Got a good idea where they go to, but don't think off hand that's the problem. What are the hazards not doing? Not flashing? Have you tried to replace the flasher can in the fuseblock?
