I'd look for one that screws into the plug hole. These have a hose between the gauge and engine. Holding a rubber tipped gauge in the hole while the engine is cranking is difficult. Can't help with brand or price.

"you get what you pay for"
I learned the hard way.
I thought I had a tired eng due to one of those "garden variety" compression testers
I also melted a hot-rod two-stroke in one of my sleds because the compression tester I had read low! Spend a little more now will save you in the later.
I bought a Snap-On and love it.

I purchased mine at Sears about 6 or years ago. Very happy with it.

the local sotres have an "actron" brand that has the quick connect hose with various adapters etc for about $20-21

sears has a sears brand (not craftsman with lifetime warranty) @$25 that appears identical to the actron right down to the package...in fact they carry a fuel pressure guage that is "actron" so i presume actron is their supplier

anyone happy with this brand...its about all that seems to be available locally
