With my current GM iron heads, the LS-5 820 castings ,113cc, my comp is 10 1/4-1. Just curious how much I would loose going to the Brodix RR ovals with 119cc? Even with the loss in comp, I'm thinking they might help the motor (496) with the much better flow? If I go this route, I'd need a cam swap to better match the heads. Been wanting a Hyd roller setup anyway. Would it be a worthwhile deal for a street motor?

Larry, why not cut them so you don't loose the compression AND get the better flow? Like my AFR's, started out as 119's and were angle cut to 102.

I also agree you will need someone to match a cam for you to really take advantage of the heads. Talk to Chris or Mike Lewis, you will maximize your investment by taking it all the way...JMO...Dave

Dave, did you angle-milled 305's exhibit any installation issues? I had some pushrods rubbing the heads, nothing that a file couldnt take care of. Also, the header tubes were drawn closer to the block...had to dimple the tubes a bit as they were hitting the rear motor mount boss on the block - the the one tube on the driver side.

no Vince, there is one tube on the driver side that is very close to the block but it makes it...probably varies depending on what headers you have...everything else fit fine..AFR did them...

Why not just get the RR ovals in 115cc ??? You can run more Compression with aluminum heads VS iron without detonation problems. I have me RR ovals cut down form 115 to 113 and running 11.2-1 compression.

Dave, do you think they can be flat cut to 113? Pistons are SRP 212157, 18cc dome, .010" in the hole. That would put be back at 10 1/4, probably all I need for a street motor.

That would be a great PM to Mike Lewis or Chris, I'm not an expert so I don't want to give you any bad info. If you are going to buy them the cutting can be part of the order, that's how I did mine....I don't think getting them down to 113 would be much of a problem but talk to an expert Larry....either of them can help you match a cam too....

I guess I dont understand why your getting the 119 when they make it in 115. Cutting a 119 down to 113 is alot.

I had my 115 Brodix RR ovals flat cut down to 113.
Kevin, if I can get them 115 then I will go that route. Thanks
