Is there companies that can restore these and have them look original (not too shiny)and nice? Mine's a little beat up with scratches, some holes and a 1/2" chunk that tapers to a crack taken out by the RH vent underneath but overall it's all there. Not looking to get it done right now but just looking for a place that does it. Anyone know of a place?
I wouldn't want to do it myself because if I messed up on it I'd see it everytime I get in the car and it would bother the hell out of me. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to painting and I'm never happy with it if I do it myself.

Do you know of anyone who will do both the detail painting and the chrome?

I'm having trouble finding someone who'll do the 2 color paint on my 68. Some will do the black, but none want to do the green overlay

I don't know about the dash part, I did it myself and used the paint marker route. It turned out nice. I did just get in the mail today my knob bezels from OPG. VERY nice. I was very surprised. The chrome looks good, and seems to match what I had. They were a bit pricey at $125 for all 5 parts, but it included the knob for the lights and the wipers too. I'll put it all together in a week or two and send a picture out.

Kurt,

Mr. G's supposedly does it all. Big James has provided a link to their web site in his reply above. Their site is very informative. You might want to inquire of them about the two colors on your bezel. As I write this, my bezel is out in my truck, boxed up and ready for shipment to Mr. G's. They will also make repairs on damaged plastic (within reason); as I understand it, American Plastic Chrome will NOT repair plastic. I sure hope they do a good job!!

Thanks Bill,

Thankfully, I have an extra, undamamged dash to use. No repairs needed.

I looked at the G's page, but it only mentioned the black painting. I'll give them a call later and see what they say about the secondary color.

I have just had my 70 dash restored by a company called american classic restorations they did a great job. It did take a while it took six months. They filled in some holes that were cut into the dash to put in an alarm light (I assume),fixed my radio posts replated the whole dash and them painted int black. They also restored my ac block off plate and my vent assemblies. They also restored my original am/fm stereo radio.
They really did a great job. Keep in mind its going to cost you around $800.00 to $1000.00 but you get what you pay for.
