I am swapping in a tilt column for the not tilt colmun in my 70 Chevelle. I pulled the tilt from a 72 Elky (everything worked).

I started the swap today. As I compare my column with the tilt column I noticed a difference in the white plastic plug mounted to the steering column.

So what is the difference between 70 & 72 plugs?

DG,first time column swapping?
Nothing is different...you just "reverse" the the harness connection going into the plug on the column...look at it closely, you'll see what I mean.Bascally,it's like a tilt column plugs in one way and a non tilt plugs in the other, but it's the same harness..I've done this swap quite a few times, and never had a problem with year to year.

Hmmm, ok I'll do that.
Thanks.

Hey is there any difference in the shaft that goes from the end of the column to the flexible joint? I left that part when I pulled it from the elky.
