Im almost done repainting my 70 SS dash. Im considering putting a few coats of clear over it to protect all of my hard work. Has anyone done this and would you recommend it? I was thinking of using an SEm product that has a satin finsh.

I tried it when I redid my 72 SS dash. I assume you painted the chrome with silver paint? The clear on the "krome" made it look muddy and dull. Exactly the opposite of the result I wanted. I tried it on my 69 dash a few years ago and it did the same thing. Bottom line, don;t do it unless you want to redo the silver again!(Pics of the 72 dash are on my website www.NoNecksChevelle.com I think the 69 dash is on there as well.)

I wouldn't do it either. I redid my SS dash a couple of years ago and it still looks new, without any kind of clear coat.
