Bob Ashton c/o Championship Auto Shows (World of Wheels) has recently acquired the show from Mid America Promotions. Mid America will still be hosting this show but will continue after that under the CAS people. It has always been a very fun show to attend though attendance has suffered over the years. The judging is not always that good as you can be awarded a gold spinner just by showing up with a new Vette so that could use some improvement but it is certainly one of the more fun shows to display at. The accomadations are great if you are staying there and the comrodary is bar none one of the best amongst displayers.

The Yenko Super Club will once again be hosting a large display of Supercars and member cars which has always been worth the trip in itself. Many TC members are members of the sYc as well so there are always familiar faces around.

The worst thing that could happen is if like many other large shows around the country, it turns into nothing more than a commercial vendors show and less attention is spent on the real reason we are there, the cars.

With any luck, I will be displaying a just restored LS-6 frame and drive train but at this point I am still waiting on some vendors so we shall see if it gets completed in time.

Rick, Thanks for the input. I wasn't going to take a car out but just go to walk around and meet and talk to people. I think Dave is going to be there with his Z16 's and if your going to be there I'll look both of you guys up. I got plane tickets to fly in sat morning and fly back sat night. Will it be easy to find everybody or is the place to big to cover in one day ?

Very easy to find everyone as long as they are inside the show area though the eating establishments are also nearby in the hotel and lobby. I don't recall how many cars are normally there but if you look at the website, http://www.midamericapromotions.com/CVF main.htm you can get an overall idea of the size and caliber of the show. Many of the cars are grouped together based on make and models. Be sure to stop by the Supercar display as well as there are several TC members lurking about that area.

I am not positive I will be there yet and if I don't get it done in time, I may likely save my vacation for deer hunting instead so we shall just have to wait and see. If I am, please do stop by as it would be nice to get together. Dave is a great guy as well and very personable.

Fly? I live 9 miles away and won't even go.

I don't like the World of Wheels either. 2 years ago, I drove all the way down to Indy for their WOW rather than go to ours. They have also been chasing our club and others for a while trying to get more traditional hot rods in there. Too much cash outlay for the benefit if you ask me.
