I have a 1980 chevy 1 ton that I bought recently that runs fine, but I noticed two new gas line filters (one for the Q-Jet and a transparent in line one) in a bag in the truck. No big deal until the truck quit running and after some searching noticed no gas coming out of the jets, then noticed the transparent filter was plugged with rust. Changed both filters and she fired right off. Drove her another 20 miles and parked it for three days. Went back out to start it up and no gas in the transparent filter. Two questions. #1a- Can I clean the rust out of the tank somehow or do I need to buy a new tank? #1b- How much should I expect to pay for a new tank if I buy one? #2 What is causing the gas to run dry in the line after sitting? Not sure if I got a clamp loose and or what. Thanks

Cure the problem and replace the tank and blow out the fuel line.
