You can take the tie rod assemblies, with the sleeves/adjusters, remove them, flip them over, and put them back on. The inners will now be the outers, and the outers will now be the inners. The zerk fitting on the inner tie rods, which was pointing straight out to the side and ready to bash a hole in your oil pan, is now the outer. The outer zerk (now the inner) points straight down.
I did this on my 69. You now have to remove the tire/wheel to lube the outers, and turn the linkage one way or the other to lube the inners, but it's no big deal. As long as you don't loosen the adjusters and/or move anything, it won't affect your alignment to flip the assemblies over.
