Almost bought a nice looking 68 Chevelle with a 327/PG and a nice black exterior/red interior.....

Came back the next day (Monday) with the cash ready to buy......

Found out some schmuck from Missouri wired the seller some money to hold it for him.

You gotta love it.

with these cars being so popular, you really have to be ready to spend the cash when the deal come up. Theres just too many people wanting these cars, usually the cars that sits are the ones that are priced too high. but the reasonable and cheap hotrods get snapped up real quick. Jim

Yup. Im sure all of us have a story of how one slipped right through our hands. I know I have. Still kick myself for ones that got away over 10 years ago. When I knew dang well then, these cars were going to be huge money and extremely high demand.

Re: chevelle rant!!

There is a 63 chevy II convertible in North US 54 Salvage, Alamogordo, NM, rough, needs a lot but who knows, what is a convertible worth??
Jim Mac stated last week that a guy in Tucson is crushing out, supposedly still has ten two door chevelle shells on frames in the yard, plus caminos and montes for parts, perhaps some traveling needs to be done to pick one up.

I's only yankin his chain but since you ask - whats the point of having different forums if it doesnt matter if you post in the wrong place? Why is this listed right at the top of the page -

Chevelle Tech General Tech Area
Please try and post in specific forums

Some downsides -

More work for the admins to move stuff around
makes searching more complicated
people who specialize in a certain thing might not see the post, leading to two things - folks dont get the answer they needed and then they post things like "Why doesnt anyone help me?!?!?"

Guess I am out of line here but i'll be damned if I dont see a big trend in the world of either not paying attention, being lazy or simply "the rules dont apply to me" (blinkers, lines, stop signs, handicap parking fraud, not paying taxes, lying for financial gain...on and on) So I guess in seeing that same behavior spill over to a place that was / is structured and where people respect the rules chaps my hide.

Its my equivalent of your issue with music in car and drag videos - just not necessary and annoying and it detracts from the content.

Have a good one, Tom. Im fixin to go post "I need cam advice" in body and paint and to get some suspension tips in the trans forum. After that maybe head over to the burrito place for a piece of pizza and then hit the propane store for some high octane diesel....before I head out to drop off my Fed Ex package at UPS. ;)
