I just replaced the alternator and regulator and I still have a charging problem. I'm putting my Chevelle back together after a frame off restoration. I went with the pertronix ignition and cut out the resistor wire. All of the wiring is new. I have check everything for a good ground. I still don't have everything plugged in under the dash, ie heater controls and consol.

When every I disconnet the positive terminal from the battery to test, the engine dies.

Any suggestions.
