I am installing a Master Power Brakes disc brake change over unit into a 69 chevelle. My problem is that the proportioning valve does not fit the rear brake line fitting.

Part of the kit is the required fitting. My question is how do I remove the current, incorrect fitting from the brake line, and replace it with the new fitting.

Thanks,

Tom.

You will have to cut the line with a tubing cutter, remove the nut, install new nut, and then double flare the brake line. If you dont have the tools or arent sure about it, you can get an adapter for your existing fitting. Get the fitting at an auto parts store and make sure it is for brake use and not a plumbing fitting. The correct adapter will have seats inside to seal the brake lines. The wrong fitting will be a straight through bushing.
