I got my 70 Chevelle in 2010.
A few weeks later I got my build sheet copy from George record keeper for GM Canada. Thanks Canucks !!!

The previous owner went with the non functional Cowl hood. Already had close to $100k in the car.

So it had it, so I want it.

I'd love to retro fit my hood.

But It's too different. So I'm pricing out hood kit and cowl kits but have no idea getting a repo hood will cost to prep, paint and install.

I am looking locally for some resto shops too.

If anyone knows and if the Ss396.com kits are the best or ??? I've had good luck with them, in the past.

My car was repainted in 2011 with the frame off. It's '70 Black Cherry (code 78 it kinda looks more like a 975 though, lol) with Artic White stripes and was told it was several coats of top quality paint, lol.

If anyone knows costs, I'm an hour and a half north of NYC in the Mid Hudson Valley.

Thanks

(Yes those are Yenko cups on the Wide Oval's, got sent the wrong ones, but got the SS's now, lol. The other wheels and tire setup are my driving radials.)

I have a complete setup like you're looking for. Includes hood, working flapper door with vacuum actuator, hood pins, lanyard cables, "cowl induction" emblems, chrome moulding at the back of the hood,etc... The only thing missing are the electric door (behind the flapper door and the electric solenoid which goes with it) and the hood latch. You can always reuse the one you already have. It is in beautiful condition as I do shows with the car... the only reason why I'm selling is that I'm going with a carbon fiber hood.
Let me know if interested
Thank you,
Claude.

P.S: I see you're in upstate NY... Are you near Saratoga Springs or Glens Falls... or Albany?

I'm just a little south west of Saratoga, and may be interested in those parts as well. If he passes, I wouldn't mind knowing how much you'd like for all of that. I picked up a original GM flapper some time ago and figured i'd use that on a aftermarket hood, but you have most of the parts already.

Thanks,

I've never heard back from the original thread starter ("72Sprint454") so if you're interested, you're next in line! I was thinking of $1,500 for the complete setup.
