current camm is a d.herbert hyd 300/310 adv 245/255 at .050 .515/.535 lift 112 l/c
3500-7000.
This will be a street/strip 1/8 mile on toy only. I have ran it and runs 7.50's right now. Over the winter Im either going to add 1.6 rockers or install new solid flat tappet cam. Stall wise Im looking for a 4500 or so. I want this car to come off the line like no other! I only drive this thing 20 miles a month if that, and is all intown-no highway. What would you guys do? Install roller rockers or new cam setup. Im staying away from solid roller---money is just to tight

I just want it to come to life out of the hole, I figured a newer higher stall (instead of only footbraking 2200 rpm) I get a combo together that hits about 4000 or so, I thought adding a solid lifter cam where the rpm comes in a lil higher will help.

A nice cam for that engine if you can find it would be the following Crane
290/306 @.020" 260/268 @.050" .670"/.625" 106 lobe seperation

Another good one is avalable from Lunati or UltraDyne
294/302 @.020" 263/271 @.050" .640"/.640" 106 lobe seperation

Unless your turning 7500rpm i think the headers are too big, If your turning above 7500rpm they are fine

Imho, a 300 cam really will like 12 to 1 CR to run like it was meant to!

At 10.75 to 1, look at a 286 to 288 cam and remember, solid cams and hy-cams advertised duration numbers are different here so SPEC accordingly!

As alway, jmho.

Depends on the lobe seperation angle / Intake centerline

112 is way too wide, that cam on a 106 would be better too

I would love to install a cam that has 106-108 just so the torque of it would come in quick and stay with it. The headers I know are alil big, But I had the money to get them off RJ, And planned on a bigger 400+ engine to go in it sometime down the road. I have the cam advanced in there now. pdq67, I got this cam off of mwilson on z28 site.
Wonder if I installed 1.6 rockers on it and new conv and give that a try. Maybe it'll wake up alil more....
