Which transmission would make for the least painful swap? Which is the better transmission? It has 4.10 gears in the rearend. I am currently looking at the Richmond six speed or the new Richmond 5 speed with overdrive. Also looked at the TKO-600 and T56.

Get something with an overdrive for sure. If you get TKO600 get the one with the .64 overdrive instead of the .82, or get T-56. With 4.10s you will want a large overdrive to compinsate, especially if you drive it on freeway.

Running the TKO 600 with .64 overdrive behind the 454 and with 4:10 rear gears in mine. Very well please with it. Did the swap by myself with the car on jack stands was no trouble at all. Jb

JB, Did you have to cut the hump alot to get it to fit? Will the Auto hump work or do I have to put in a Manual hump?

you will cut out the top of the tunnel and replace. won't make any difference which hump.
