Just quit my part time job yesterday (Home Depot rocks if you need extra cash for your ride :D ) to get back into my project and I'm looking at custom 9" rear end housings.
Is there any reason to not run a centered pinion when purchasing a new rear end housing? I was also thinking of raising the upper control arm mounting points on the housing simular to what the anti - hop bars do to relocate the upper mounting points.

If you were to do a custom rear end that uses the after market A - body upper and lower control arms, how would you do it?

All of your oppinions and reccomendations would be helpful.

Thanks,
Mike

Isn't the pinion lower than center on a 9"? If so, is an option availabe to raise it to the center? Or are you talking side to side?

As far as the upper control arm mounting points, I think most aftermarket rear builders already incorporate this into the housing.

My Moser 12 bolt has raised mounting points.

Sorry guys. I was reffering to the side to side off set.

if you center the u joint, then the large part of the rear is off center, which can cause fit problems, looks kind of wierd to see the rear offset from the back
