I did my patio in paving stone a few years ago. The installer recommended a product called Techniseal at www.techniseal.com . I used it primarily to protect the pavers from BBQ oils and cheap tequila. After three years it looks fine and isn't shiny or slippery.

Can't recall brand names but there are two types the Thompsons is cheaper approx $60 for a five gallon container and it basiclly seals the top and gets worn or eroded off. The more expensive type is a penetrating sealer and gets absorbed into the concrete and is approx $200 for five gallons. More expensive type available at distributors of concrete supplies the cheaper from big box stores.

We get our concrete sealer from local concrete plant. It is called APC Precision Premium 15 or 30 or 45. Number indicates amount of solids in the product. We use the 30 for most projects such as sidewalks and driveways. It is a high solid pure acrylic product that works great. Anything that you buy from big box stores will wear off in a short period of time, this stuff will stay on for years. Cost us $110 per 5 gallon bucket and worth every penny. Do not put in a plastic lawn type sprayer as it will melt the plastic. Install with paint roller. We usually install 24 hours after pouring concrete. Here in Birmingham, Al our biggest issue is the red clay that stains concrete and will not come out, this stuff keeps all stains out of the concrete.

Whatever brand name you choose to use, I would recommend you use one with silane and/or siloxane in it. A good one is unobtrusive (ie the concrete looks like it has nothing on it) and permeates the substrate and won't wear off for years. We see it specified on many of our northern climate parking garages we do. Hope that helps!
