The idle mixture screws are apart of the idle circuit and the accel. pump and main jets are apart of the main metering circuit. The carb operates almost exclusively off of the idle circuit at idle or constant part throttle cruising. But once you engage throttle farther than where it was it engages the main metering circuit. With that being said it sounds like the idle circuit might be too big because you aren't running off of the main jets at idle. You can feel free to adjust them but it isn't going to run any leaner than the 75 jets. What size carb do you have? What size engine and cam?

the reason i went to the 80 jet was at part throtle cruising it wanted to surged so a fellow club member from the monte carlo club i belong to said to go up in the main jet to get raid of the surging. i did a pump cam change and a squirter change in the parking lot at the show but didnt want to do the jet change.
