If the 2 barrels are anything like the 4 barrels be carefull that you do not overtighten and strip the threads. I did this on a 4 barrel. There is a repair fitting which has more and slightly larger threads.
I've got a 350/300HP 4bbl and I haven't gotten into the carb to replace the filter because I can't get the thing to come loose so I can get it out. Some one had spliced the fuel pump to carb line and put one in but it's obviuosly not original.
