I have noticed this for awhile now. When I come to a stop, the car (396ci) wants to lunge forward. Sometimes I swear it's going to break free and take off on me. It will lunge forward and then rock back and then do it all over again. Is this a carb/timing issue? Thanks!

Does it by any chance have a auto trans with a lock up converter?

Make sure your idle is not to high and your brakes are adjusted properly.

And the accelerator linkage return spring is strong enough.

And the carb is tuned well for idle. Doesit have a stock torque convertor? If so, the idle will be tough to get to work with any kind of Lopez ca,.
