We tried to install the headliner today in our 70 chevelle, and I realized that we don't have the center brace that runs front to rear which the headliner bow clips get installed into. We have the one that in the center that runs left to right. Can someone recommend somewhere to purchase one from? I can't seem to find the name of it, nor anyone that sells it. Please help ASAP as it is holding up my build. Thanks!

I thought the brace that ran from front to back was used on the 68-69 Chevelle coupes and then all the 4dr from 68-72. If your 70 is a 2 dr coupe, it should be like you described.
Oh, ok. I figured I couldn't have thrown the brace away upon removal of the old headliner years ago. So the there are not support clips in the center of the bows forward/rear of the dome light?

Also, can someone offer a picture of the exact order of the wire bows from front to rear?

I know they call out the colors from front to rear as red, white, blue, black, green...but I have bows with yellow and some with both red AND blue on them, etc. so its confusing.

Also, one wire is thin and just a straight piece with no bends. I'm assuming this fits into the same clips that the dome light harness is hanging in....Is that correct?

Thanks in advance for all the help guys!!!!

Thin one does fit into the clip with the dome line harness. The other bows you should be able to do a trial and error fit first before you put them into your headliner. I had to do that with mine to make sure they were in the correct order.

So I installed headliner last night. The first 75% of the headliner (from the windshield) is pretty much wrinkle free. The sail panel areas have some wrinkles. It's pretty hard to maneuver in that area.

Is there any suggestions (ie cut a slit, heat gun)???

It got late last night and I was getting tired :boring:, so I figured I'd re-engage it when I was well rested.
