My question is simple. Without modification, can a repro column (they only come '69-later)fit in a '68 Elky? My truck has an original tilt, column shifted steering column and I'd like to switch to a non-shifted tilt column for a console conversion.

Nathan,

Without modification "NO" ! You are aware that the '69 column will have the ignition switch on the side. I have both a '68 floor shift column and a '69 floor shift column and they are VERY different.

The only thing that I can think of is you will have two places to insert the ignition key: The original ignition switch on the dashboard, and the lock cylinder on the column, which, if turned "off" will lock your steering.

Could be wierd!
