Preliminary new owner thread! My car is being picked up tonight from IL and will be in my garage tomorrow! Woohoo!!

The rundown:
70 Malibu, originally a 307 car
Butternut yellow w/ obligatory black ss stripes
RUST FREE!!
Fresh drivetrain --
427, forged crank and pistons, race ported rectangular port heads, solid roller cam, rpm air gap intake, might demon 850
Turbo 400
12 bolt/3.73s
New brakes and suspension

Needs some interior work, but I can't wait to hear those 40 series!

Thanks! I am taking a break from Grand Nationals for a while -- I've wanted this car since I was 13! I found it through an ebay auction that did not sell. The owner has been excellent to deal with!

I know the feeling. I waited 2 weeks for my car to get from SoCal to my house in Miami. Its the longest night ever the night before the car gets there. Congrats on the new car!:thumbsup:

Well have fun with it. I wanted a 70 SS since I first saw one I was around 5 or 6 years old. I remember asking my father what the red car was that we were driving by he said a "chevy." I remember it like it was yesterday, that was 39 years ago. I did finally end up getting a "chevy" or two..

Congrats!! I remember the night they called and said my Chevelle was going to be drop off in the morning :hurray: The driver stopped for the night about 1 1/2 away from here and called, I was thinking I'll just drive out there and pick it up

Welcome MJ from another new 70 owner. I just went thru the same thing as I just recieved my car last week. I waited almost a month for it to be shipped in. You will not sleep tonight, or tomorrow. Post some pics when you get the chance.

Yeah I can't wait to heat it fire up for real. I am worrying a bit about the transport, the other option was wait a month for an enclosed and miss my wedding. This guy called yesterday (sale completed thursday) and said he'd have it here this weekend, so I went for it!
